This is an interesting concept. Seems like they can exchange shares for physical gold. Very high expense ratio at 0.51%. It is actively managed.
Interesting although kind of a gimmick I think. I can’t imagine it would be too hard to sell any other gold stock and just buy physical gold with the proceeds.
CEF also has a very small market cap (only $4 billion), so not super liquid. Also the expense ratio is .51% on an asset which doesn’t pay a dividend (aka constant loss).
I prefer GLDM, it has extremely low expense ratio for gold (0.18%), although if you want the highest liquidity you could go for GLD and eat a higher expense ratio.
